Korfball comes to the Fen Edge Festival

Korfball comes to the Fen Edge Festival when Cambridge Phoenix and Cambridge Tigers Korfball Clubs join together to bring you a Korfball taster session for all the family! Come and try a sport that the whole family can enjoy together at Cottenham Village College Sports Centre on Saturday 24 June from 3pm to 4.30pm.

Korfball is a fantastic mix of netball and basketball, where everyone gets to shoot and defend. Males and females play on the same team, so it’s a great sport for the whole family to enjoy together. Korball comes to Fen Edge FestivalAll ages/abilities welcome from 7+. Wear suitable clothes, trainers, & bring a water bottle. Play Tennis Fun Day – SATURDAY ONLY

Cottenham Sports Centre are opening their tennis courts for everyone. No matter your age or ability, come along and join in a friendly game of tennis – If you’re trying for the first time or if you play regularly you’ll be welcomed and have a chance to enjoy a knockabout or a serious game. Please wear appropriate sports clothing. Just come to reception on arrival and they’ll provide you with the Rackets & balls you need.

Badminton – SATURDAY ONLY
CVC Sports Hall 11:00 – 13:00
This is your chance to give Badminton a go. Again, it doesn’t matter your age or ability just come along and join in a friendly game. There will be 4 courts available for use, so this will work as first come first serve basis. Please wear appropriate sports attire. Equipment will be provided.

Table Tennis Tournament – SUNDAY ONLY

Our Soft Play Fun offers a variety of activities including bouncy castles, soft play equipment, toy cars among many others. This is a great way to keep those energised children entertained. This Soft Play Fun is aimed for children 0-8. Children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian at all times.

Custard Comedy at the Fen Edge Festival

To open this year’s Fen Edge Festival on Thursday 22 June we have a fantastic night of comedy at the Cottenham Community Centre brought to you by those wonderful people at Custard Comedy. The line up is guaranteed to get you laughing!

From early in his career Mike Gunn was supporting the likes of Jo Brand and Alan Davies. Mike Gunn Custard Comedy at the Fen Edge FestivalHe now headlines at all the top comedy venues in the UK and is rapidly reaching cult status on the circuit. He has performed internationally, taking his talent to Hong Kong, Ireland, Holland, Germany, Switzerland, New Zealand, and Saudi Arabia and to Australia at the Melbourne International Comedy Festival, where he completed a five-week sell-out season.

Television appearances include Michael McIntyre’s Comedy Roadshow (BBC1), Harry Hill’s TV Burp (ITV) and Al Murray’s sit-com ‘Time Gentlemen Please’ (Sky). “Mike Gunn will make you die laughing” The Guardian.

A highly distinctive performer and deft writer of finely crafted jokes, Peter Brush unassumingly takes the stage with his slight bespectacled frame and scruffy hair, before consummately conquering it with an arsenal of razor sharp quirky one-liners and peerlessly original routines, all delivered in an amusingly awkward fashion.

Rob Coleman Custard Comedy at the Fen Edge FestivalMC Rob Coleman is an established semi-pro comic doing opening, middle, headline and MC work for a wide variety of provincial clubs. He is primarily a gag based act but has some observational material in his set and is very comfortable working the crowd. “A naturally funny man.” Bedfordshire News.

Landbeach Sing to Remember

Landbeach Sing to Remember group is led by Jan Payne and meets weekly on Thursdays during term time at Landbeach Baptist Church, High Street, Landbeach. This singing group is for those with various forms of memory loss (and their carer), although anyone is welcome.

Why not come and join us at 10:45 for tea and biscuits followed by singing from 11 am  to 12 noon.
No weekly fee, but small donations welcome.

Farming Memories – Wimpole Home Farm

Farming Memories Wimpole Home Farm group is a joint project between Care Network Cambridgeshire (a local charity) and the National Trust. The Agricultural group meets every other Friday between 2 and 4 pm at Wimpole Home Farm.

The meeting dates for the group are 9th June, 23rd June, 7th July. There will then be a break over the summer.

This is a group for those in the early stages of dementia, memory loss and their carers who have a background in, or an interest in, agriculture. Come along and get involved in farming activities with time for a tea break and a catch up!
