Open Day at Landbeach Tithe Barn

Tudor times were brought to life at the Landbeach Tithe Barn Open Day in April.
Thanks to Nancy Crisp, the Tudor weaver, who was most effective in introducing ways of the past, visitors were able to see how a fleece would be prepared for spinning over 400 years ago, after which they could attempt to make cloth using a simple loom.

There were Tudor-style games to play as well, thanks to the Waterbeach and Landbeach Action for Youth Trust (WY) who organised them. A nice touch were the costumes for children to dress up in.
More events are planned to raise awareness of this local treasure which a group of volunteers aim to save and sympathetically restore for community use.

To find the barn:

kissing gate entrance is opposite No 2 Waterbeach Road, Landbeach CB25 9FA and you walk along the grassed track beside the hedge. The No 9 Stagecoach bus stops near Cockfen Lane.
