What’s On at Willingham Social Club

Thanks to all who visited the Beer Festival

At the end of September, we held a very successful Beer Festival, with entertainment and food over 2 days, which raised over £3,500. The money will go towards the fund to provide an accessible toilet for our function room (which is used by many village organisations) and Willingham Action Group’s chosen village projects. The reward for all of the hard work and generosity put in by so many volunteers, was to see our village community having a drink, a laugh and enjoying a dance (or two). Willingham Social Club Beer Festival 2018A very big ‘Thank You’ to everyone involved, from our main Sponsors Highgate Country Stores and Butchery, our glass sponsors A R Aspinall & Sons Ltd and the many barrel sponsors. Thank you also to the Porterhouse Gin Club for kindly donating all of their profits and many others, too numerous to mention here. See the Beer Festival website or Facebook page for the list of sponsors and our photo gallery. This was a fantastic community event run by the village for the benefit of the village.

Willingham Social Club November Events

Willingham Social Club Jessie's GhostSaturday 10th November – Jessie’s Ghost, Live Band
Jessie’s Ghost will be making their first appearance at the club. However, they are no strangers to the village having played at many private parties and local venues. From Norfolk and winners of ‘West Norfolk’s Got Talent’ in 2010, they are a hugely popular and charismatic 5 piece band. Playing covers, and a few of their own, you are likely to hear Ed Sheeran, James Blunt, Bob Dylan, The Lumineers and many quirky favourites that they play and sing with astounding harmonies. The electric version of the band will be playing with a full drum kit. You may have seen one of the band members, Simon Benefer, playing at our Beer Festival recently, at ‘Festival Too’ or perhaps seen them in the X Factor house in their younger years ( they are only just 30 now!)  Doors 8pm. Tickets just £5 from the club on the door or, to guarantee entry, from wegottickets.com

Willingham Social Club Graham BuxtonFriday 30th November – Graham Buxton, Live Music Members Night
Graham is a professional singer /guitarist who is greatly in demand. Doors 8pm. This event will be in the members bar for members only and their guests for just £2. Graham was spotted by us playing acoustic covers in Ely and later as a Rod Stewart impersonator with a full band. If you check out the Facebook page for ‘Wrong Stewart and the Farces’ you will see how closely he resembles him! Unfortunately his band is well out of our price range so we have booked the next best thing! His first time at the club and if ever there was a reason to become a member this is it!
