Willingham Beer Festival | 28 and 29 September 2018

Willingham Beer Festival 2018 will be held at Willingham Social Club as part of the village’s Feast week on Friday 28th September (5pm – 11pm) and Saturday 29th September (Midday – 11pm)

Willingham Action Group, Willingham Social Club and Elgoods Brewery have been working closely to provide a large range of excellent real ales, ciders and low alcohol beers. Approximately 20 cask and keg beers, (some local, some not) have been carefully selected by our committee who, having been on a brewery tour, are well informed! Willingham Beer FestivalThey have selected beers from different breweries, uniquely crafted to provide a variety of styles. Watergull Orchards will be providing the Beer Festival with a selection of their delicious ciders. They produce over 10 different varieties of cider and have limited editions available from time to time as well. Low alcohol beers will be available from various breweries from Sweden to Suffolk, with many that are hard to differentiate from the alcoholic versions. These are perfect at 0.0% to 0.5% ABV for the health conscious and designated drivers.

We are immensely grateful and pleased to welcome The Porterhouse, who will be attending with their own bar, serving speciality gins and mixers from their popular Gin Club. In true community spirit, they are donating all of the proceeds from their gin bar to the fund. And of course, the Social Club bar will be open serving a full array of drinks and snacks.

A Waller & Son Butchers, (local resident, Richard Welton, is the proprietor) will be providing a quality barbecue and homemade pies made with Milton Brewery Real Ale. Other caterers will be attending.

Willingham Beer Festival MusicThere will be some great music too including solo guitarist/vocalists… Simon Benefer, Jess Orestano, Harri Beasley and Jodie Richardson. Also The Lightwaves (a guitar/ukele duo) and Alex Dann a jazz pianist.

Everyone working at the beer festival is a volunteer and has not necessarily worked behind a bar before, so thank you to them in advance. If you would like to help out we would love to hear from you. Children are welcome to attend until 9pm and well-behaved dogs are welcome in the outside marquee.

The Beer Festival is primarily raising funds for disabled toilet facilities and a new climate control system at Willingham Social Club. Willingham Action Group will also receive some of the proceeds to assist with their good work within the village. Both WSC and WAG are not for profit organisations. The entire event is run by the village, for the benefit of the village! Follow us at www.willinghambeerfestival.co.uk and on Facebook and Instagram.

Willingham Social Club is a not-for-profit organisation which is proud and privileged to support many of our village groups who use our facilities on a regular basis.

Willingham Action Group is a volunteer community group that exists to improve the quality of life for the residents of the village.

We would like to thank Highgate Country Store and Butchery for being our main sponsor for this event and A R Aspinall & Sons Ltd for the glass sponsorship and the many barrel sponsors who we are proud to feature on our Facebook page and website.
